Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania and Transfer to Tarangire

Arrive in the afternoon at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania and be picked up by your safari guide. You’ll be driven through the different towns of Tanzania including Arusha, on your way to Tarangire National Park. So, take time and enjoy the different scenic views of the vibrant towns in Tanzania and the breathtaking geographical landscapes of the Northern Circuit. Your trip to Tarangire is approximately 4 hours covering over  170km but variable depending on the route taken.

Also, enjoy a variety of snacks and refreshments along your travel to this park. So, when you reach the gates of Tarangire National Park, you’ll see herds of elephants roaming around the landscape. Your guide will drive you so that you check in at Tarangire Sopa lodge, where you will stay. On reaching this lodge in Tarangire, check in and transfer to your room. Also, have Tanzanian cuisine and spend the evening resting at this lodge as you shed off the fatigue from the road trip.

 Day 2: Enjoy full-day game drives in Tarangire National Park – The Land of Giants

By 10:00 am, you’ll have had breakfast, so prepare for your first morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Firstly, board your safari vehicle and get ready to enjoy a full-day game drive experience in Tarangire. Observe the distinct social behaviors of the endemic species in this park, including the tree-climbing lions in the baobab trees during game drives. Also, you might spot leopards in the trees, even if they can hardly be seen.

In the afternoon, have a picnic lunch around the Tarangire River, which is a life-giver in this park. Additionally, see animals like zebras, big 5 animals in Tanzania including elephants and hippos congregating on its shores. In the evening, have dinner and rest again at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Experience the final Game drive in Tarangire National Park.

Enjoy breakfast at the restaurant and then embark on your last day in the Savannas of Tarangire national park. Since the predators in Tarangire are usually active in the morning, you are likely to see impalas being chased by the lion or a cheetah stalking its prey. In the afternoon, spot elephant herds crossing your road path as they move towards the Tarangire River.

In the late afternoon, chill and meditate at the magnificent pool area at the Tarangire National Park. Also, take in the amazing, picturesque views and this is also an opportunity to have a photography session in this 9 day Tanzania and Zanzibar Holiday. Later, head back to Tarangire Sopa lodge for  lunch, supper and preparation to travel to Ngorongoro from Tarangire.

Day 4: Trip to Ngorongoro conservation area from Tarangire National Park

This whole day is dedicated to enjoying scenic views and a road trip from Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After breakfast at the Tarangire Sopa lodge, embark on your second road trip and see the Lake Manyara waters and the Karatu highlands on your way to Ngorongoro. This trip to Ngorongoro from Tarangire takes about 4 hours covering 120km to that park. When you reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, check in with your guide at the Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Lodge. Also, this is one of the best accommodation facilities in this conservation area.

Next, rest and have a meal, and later head for an evening game drive through Ngorongoro Crater. So, as you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, you are likely to see lions on the side roads and the beautiful sunset on the shorelines. Lastly, head back to the Ngorongoro lion’s paw lodge for your dinner and rest in your room.

Day 5: Experience Ngorongoro Crater safari Full- day game drives

The day starts with a warm breakfast at the terrace of the Ngorongoro lion’s paw lodge. Next, your Serengeti Masai Mara Experts guide will pick you up to explore the Ngorongoro Crater floor. So, observe the area dotted with the pink flamingos in the morning game drives in Ngorongoro. Also, see animals including the Tanzania big 5 like the black rhinos, the elephants, etc that are congregated at the banks.

If, you go for this 9 day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar beach holiday between January to February, you will witness the birthing of the wildebeests calves.  In proximity to the crater, at an elevated area, is where you will enjoy your lunch and dinner will be at your lodge.

Day 6: Road Trip to Serengeti National Park From Ngorongoro

After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Later, head back to the hotel, check out and prepare for your trip to Serengeti form Ngorongoro. This road trip is approximately 3 hours long to the Serengeti National Park. Also, enjoy scenic views as you transition from the highland areas of Ngorongoro towards the open savannahs of the Serengeti.

A packed lunch will be served to you by your tour guide along the way. So, as you reach the Serengeti, check into the Anatya Serengeti Lodge where you’ll be staying for 2 nights. Also, rest for about an hour and have an evening game drive to track down two of the big five animals ( lions and leopards). Additionally, these are normally active during this time in the Serengeti National Park plains. After the drive, head back the Anatyto a Serengeti lodge for your dinner and rest.

Day 7: Full-Day Serengeti Migration Safari at the Mara River

After a bush morning meal at the Anatya Serengeti, have a whole day game drive in the Serengeti grasslands. The highlight of the morning will be the sunrise on the misty grasslands of the Serengeti National Park. Also, you might see the Maasai people leading a herd of cattle through the plains.

In the afternoon, enjoy a packed meal before witnessing the dramatic crossings of the wildebeests. Also, observe the natural terror as some of the animals are engulfed by cheetahs or lions during their traversing through the Mara River. In the evening, enjoy the sundowners with a meal and a glass of champagne while you toast to life. Later, head back to the Anatya Serengeti lodge for rest and preparation for your Zanzibar beach holidays.

Day 8: Fly to Zanzibar Island from Arusha

The last meal in Serengeti will be a morning buffet in the courtyard of Anantya Serengeti lodge. Check out from your Serengeti hotel and your tour guide will drive through the grasslands of Serengeti to Arusha airport. The journey is 9 hours long, covering over 400km to get to Tanzania’s Arusha. Hence, travelers should be ready to buckle up and enjoy a scenic ride with a stopover at a local Tanzanian restaurant. So, taste of the ”Ugali” and ” Nyama Choma” that are some of the Tanzanian local delicacies before you reach Arusha.

Later, reach Arusha airport and board your scheduled flight to Zanzibar for your beach holiday. Additionally, the flight takes about 1hour and 30minutes. Once in Zanzibar, your transportation will be waiting for you at the Zanzibar airport. Then, you will be taken to the Mora Zanzibar resort, where you are to spend the rest of the evening relaxing. Explore the pristine sand beach at this resort while you overlook panoramic views of Mnemba Island. Also, enjoy other optional activities during your Zanzibar holiday, like snorkeling, jet skiing, and more at this beach.

Day 9: Explore Stone Town in Zanzibar and then Departure

In the morning after your Zanzibar beach holidays the day before, you will have breakfast at the pristine beach sands of the Mora Zanzibar resort. Next, start your day off by exploring the alleys of the historical Stone town in Zanzibar. So, while here, explore the Swahili culture and history by visiting landmarks like the Old Fort. Also, navigate through the Darajani Market.

Later, head back to the beach of the Mora Zanzibar resort for final preparations before departure. Lastly, enjoy lunch before you set off for your departure to the Zanzibar airport.
