Worst and best time for the 5 days Serengeti and Maasai Mara safari tour.

July- September is the best time to see the great migration in Africa in Masai Mara or Serengeti np for the 5-days exploration of both the wildlife habitats. This is the opportunist time to witness comprehensive wildebeest activities and experiences that occur during the wildebeest migration.

During this best time to visit Africa for migration, Wildebeest herds are spotted crossing from the golden Northern plains of Serengeti to the Maasai Mara.  In this season predator-prey chases, and wildlife viewing is also optimal. Also, this is because  you get to also witness other wild animals like the big four (lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants). You will also catch predators like lions chasing their prey. The worst time to visit Serengeti or Masai Mara is during the wet seasons expecially in March to May where wildlife sightings are hard.

Arrive at Arusha Airport in Tanzania and this will mark the beginning of your 5 days Serengeti and Masai Mara great migration Safari. You will be driven in  our best 4×4 safari vehicles in Tanzania to Serengeti National Park from Arusha town. The road trip is adventurous and Arusha town approximately 318 kilometers (198 miles) away from Serengeti np and will take you about 6 to 7 hours.

As you enter the Serengeti National Park gates you will set a glance on some of the wild animals like the elephant herds and lions roaming around in the Savannah. You will then reach at the restaurant of your safari Serengeti lodge and relax as you wait for your meal and then you will proceed to your safari room.

In the evening you will meet your Serengeti safari guide and proceed for an evening game drive. On this Serengeti safari tour game drive you will get to see nocturnal like bush babies, in the acacia trees. Also, luckily  enough you might also spot leopards in the trees.  Watch the dramatic view of the sun set down the  horizon with the vigilant movement of the birds as they flock to their nests. At 7; 00 am in the morning, you will set off for your morning game drive through Serengeti Tanzanija. Breakfast will be at around 6; 30 am and then before you start you journey you will get a briefing from your Serengeti safari tour guide.

Head to the hot air balloon Serengeti launching site in Seronera and  then  after your  balloon being inflated you will set off for your wildebeest migration Tanzania.  Drifting above the captivating landscape of the Serengeti National Park and as the balloon moves with the wind you will  begin to set sight of some of the wildebeest movement.  You will spot wildebeests wandering through the  yellowish –painted grasslands  as they approach the snaky Mara  River.

You will then descend down the  Savannah with chills from this experience and then share a brunch meal with other tourists. Later you will  embark on an afternoon Serengeti tour game drive through the park. Also, you will come across more herds of wildebeests moving with other wild animals like the zebras, impalas and gazelles going to the direction of Mara River. Mara river has fresh grasslands and fresh drinking water that supports the well-being of diverse wild animals. In the evening, you will have a bush dinner amidst shimmering lamp lights surrounded by the wilderness.

The journey from Serengeti could be by flight or by road transport but since the 5-days Serengeti and Maasai Mara Itinerary is   about general adventure satisfaction we shall use the road transport to enjoy a scenic landscape road trip to the Maasai Mara. In order to reach in time, the journey will start at 6; 45am in the morning after a substantial meal then you will check out of the safari lodge and bard the safari cars.

Through the journey from Serengeti to Masai Mara, you will have more opportunities to view more captivating sceneries. The distance by road from Serengeti National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is about 128 to 147 kilometers (80 to 91 miles). Additionally, you will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Also, get to observe the day to day lives of the distinct Tanzanian and Kenyan Maasai communities.  The journey will have a couple of stop overs where you will renew your energy. You will also have lunch break at one of the restaurants in Kenya. Reach the Maasai Mara national Reserve, check into your safari room and then after traversing through your room.  You will head to the restaurant of the lodge for a meal. The journey from Serengeti to Maasai Mara having been tiresome, you will go back to your room and have arrest.

In the  morning 8; 00am, you will join other tourists at the dinning bush setting in the Maasai Mara Kenya. You will have a variety of meals selection as you interact with other visitors while you take in the Greenland scenery. Later, proceed on the morning Masai Mara trip  game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve. In addition, you will see elephant’s and giraffes roaming through the green lush grasslands as the sun breeds its light onto the horizon.

Head to the banks of the Mara River where you will witness the jumbled movement of the wildebeests in Kenya through the murky waters of the Mara river.  Also see the lions begin to engulf some of their prey such as the zebras and they return them to the Mara River banks. After this you will have another arranged lunch picnic settings in the Mara wilderness. Then you will again have another round of multiple Masai Mara safari game drives through the park.
